Build your skills and book simultaneously!

Level up with the ULTIMATE Musical Theatre Class! This small group, 7 week course is designed to improve performance skills while simultaneously building a dynamic Musical Theatre audition book. Each week will be devoted to a different essential category of musicals (Golden Age, Sondheim, Pop, etc). Every class will start with an educational segment exploring Broadway history, composers, and different vocal techniques geared toward the selected style followed by individual coaching sessions with the instructors. Prior to each class, students will be given a master list of shows from the featured category to explore. They will choose one song to prepare (on their own) and perform for the class and work with the coaches to make vocal technique adjustments and explore acting choices. This course requires some "homework" - the fun kind. Each week it is up to the student to explore repertoire, choose, learn, and prepare a song for the following class. Prior to each week, students will be given a list of shows for the selected category and a link to a broadway show data base. Students are encouraged to listen to different shows to find a song that they strongly like, or even better, love, and fits their voice. Students may consult with coach Sarah and request to be assigned a song if they are having trouble with a particular week. Similar to a college level course, students can contact the instructor for questions and guidence.
SHEET MUSIC:
Students are responsible for providing their own sheet music. SBA's personal library of scores and sheet music will be available for students to access but if a song is not in the included, students must obtain on their own.
