ABOUT THE CLASS
Musical Theatre auditions are about so much more than perfect singing, it's about YOU telling a story that is COMPELLING and taking your audience on a journey. Isn't that why we go to see Broadway shows? It's about the STORY.
This acting though song master class, teaches students how to take a song out of it's original context and create a genuine and unique audition. Taught by AEA actress and coach Sarah Beth Andrews. Whether someone is new to Musical Theatre, or a seasoned performer, this class never fails to elevate the student's audition and mindset!
Ages: 13-17
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Performers will sing their chosen audition cut for the class. Sarah Beth Andrews will work one on one exploring different approaches to the song. Students will then get to perform their audition a second time applying their new found discoveries. (Performer spots are limited)
For those who are not comfortable yet with performing in a group setting, this class offers an observer option at a discounted rate.
After the mini coaching sessions, SBA will conclude with Q&A.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
- 16 - 32 bars (approx. 1 minute) of an audition song
(This class will be using tracks. An ipad will be provided)
- bring water
- notebook (optional)
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sarah Beth Andrews is an actress, singer, and coach. Over the last decade she has performed for Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Paris, Equity theatre productions, and several performances of her one woman show. She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University and is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and The National Association of Teachers of Singing. SBA currently maintains a private voice and acting study.
