SINGING MY DREAM ROLES

2020-2021

Introduction

At the beginning of 2020 I was on the rise; going on auditions, attending callbacks, and booking seasonal contracts.  I was certain it would finally be my year for a big break...  Little did I know that the COVID-19 pandemic would soon devastate my industry.  By the end of March auditions came to a halt, my contracts were canceled, and theaters around the country closed.  With a broken heart I watched the lights of Broadway go dark.  As the shut down extended several more times, I was hit with the crushing reality that: "It's going to be a long time until I perform in a show again".  I hated the thought of my career being stagnant while time moved forward but I reminded myself that: "I didn't get this far just to get this far." So, I decided to take control of what I could and stop letting disappointment rule my heart and the days pass me by.  Absolutely nothing can replace the rush of live theatre but with the help of two phenomenal accompanists (Bruce De La Cruz & Michael Gilch), we were able to create something I am proud to present. In this 9 part series, I will be singing selections from my top dream roles.  This project has kept me motivated on my darkest days and gave me a chance to step into the shoes of these magnificent characters.  The future is still uncertain but I know the beautiful, irreplaceable joy of live performance will return stronger than ever!  And I can't wait to be a part of it.
